It was a very cold morning in Jedburgh with what seemed to be a mixture of apprehension and a good carnival atmosphere with piped band music bellowing in the background.
The Jedburgh half marathon was run by both Maryhill runners who completed it around 6 years previously, with the race starting near to the abbey and running through the town centre. All of the competitors were given a resounding welcome by the locals cheering and bands playing upbeat music. Once the race started to head out into the country side memories of the course route started to come flooding back. This course seems to have found every hill within the area so for the full 1000 runners this would be challenging and everyone would be having their own personal battles.
George and David decided that they would stay together the full run and enjoy the rolling countryside and take in some of the breath taking scenery and have a good old natter along the way.
