Turnhouse Hill Race

Sarah and I drove over to the Pentlands for the penultimate race in the Bog and Burn Series, Turnhouse.

This is a short race 5.2Km and 310m of climbing. The route climbs up through a series of gates on a track before contouring around the east side of the hill. After this there is a steep climb to the top before blasting back down the north side. Again you contour around to the track to follow the same route back to the finish.

The race was won by Hector Haines, Edinburgh Uni H&H, in 24:26 (a record I think). The first female was Sarah McCormack, Moorfoot, in 28:50.

I finished 30th in 31:49 and Sarah was 69th in 37:48

89 runners took part.
