Trossachs 10k

Last Saturday the Trossachs 10K took place in the stunning setting of Aberfoyle on a beautiful sunny day. This trail race sets off from Aberfoyle across the Manse Road bridge before heading up hill into Loch Ard forest. From there we followed a meandering trail around Lochan Spring to come back in to Aberfoyle from the east along the old railway line. Although footing was a little tricky at some stages due to a rocky pathway, the hills weren’t too bad. Also, the last mile or so was pretty flat into the finish. The combination of the spectacular scenery and the interesting trails made this a really enjoyable race. The race was won (by over 5 minutes!) by Prasad Prasad from Squadra Porcini in a time of 32.30.

The first lady home was Jennifer Telford (Scottish Prison Service) in 41.20.

The mighty blues were represented by me and Chris. After finishing the race, we went to a coffee shop on the main street who were selling the biggest slices of cake you’ve ever seen. Needless to say Chris had a slice! (I just had a scone which was pretty big as well…..).
MH results:
4th Andy Sutherland (38.17)
34th Chris Hever (49.54)
