Pollok Parkrun

Back on the normal course at Pollok Park, I went along to this parkrun with the intention of taking it relatively easy. As always, fellow park-runners would be unaware of my seemingly nonchalant attitude to that days run, and I would find someone hanging on my (big) shoulder spoiling for a race.
Unable to ignore the challenge, I inevitably found myself roped into some serious exertion. I had initially set myself a target somewhere between 21 and 22 minutes, but this went out the window as I crossed the line in 18th place, in a time of 19:57 – just 15 secs outside my PB for that course.
