Paisley 10k

Being the only Harrier taking part in this event I only had to finish to be first home, I didn’t disappoint, this is becoming a habit. There were 1282 who finished which led to quite a congested start as usual and you have to have your wits about you to avoid collisions with other runners or road furniture for the first mile or so.

This worked out quite well for me as it slowed me down a wee bit as I normally take off too fast, though in the end I still went off too fast.
Making progress after injury I wasn’t expecting too much, again I didn’t disappoint and ended up down about 30 secs slower than my estimate but happy enough with that considering it was warm and crowded. But its a really good event and well organised with plenty of the good folk of Paisley lining the streets to cheer you on and a few water stops one of which I slowed to quench my parched throat only to inhale half with the other half going up my nose, I think I’m the only person ever to nearly drown in a road 10k.
I’ll definitely be back again.
