This year the race, organised by Highland Hill runners, was extended to 13km with a 720m climb. Departing from the Badaguish Outdoor Centre the race starts along a forest track for about a mile and a half before hitting the narrow track that ascends Meall a Bhuachille. On reaching the ridge to the top we were suddenly hit by really strong winds from side on which could just about lift you off your feet, turning back for the descent the wind was in your face making it feel like you were caught in a wind tunnel with jowls blown out like sails. It was really tough going heading west along the ridge into the wind over a couple of smaller tops then down a peaty descent back to the forest track. Then it was a mile or so down to the finish line at the centre where I just had to try and hang on to those in front in an effort to get as good a time as I could. I finished it in 1hr 34 which I was really pleased with.

Despite the gale force winds it was a really enjoyable route made all the better with the sunshine and fantastic scenery.

The winning times were:
male 1hr 9
female 1hr 20
