The weather forecast for this year’s Jimmy Irvine 10K was for gale force winds and torrential rain. Unfortunately, the forecast was spot on. The route was the usual two laps of Bellahouston park starting at the high point behind the ski slope. Apart from the fast start, the weather seemed to have a big impact on everyone’s times. The first lap wasn’t too bad but by the second lap the wind (and rain) had really got up and the 8th kilometre through the park to Mosspark Boulevard was particularly hard going straight into the wind. As usual it was a very well organised race by the Bellahouston Road Runners and a very big thanks to all the marshalls that had to stand out in that weather. There was 495 runners and the race won by Neil Renault from Edinburgh Athletics Club in 31.32. The 1st lady was Shona McIntosh (Hunters Bog Trotters) in 36.18. Below are the results for the Maryhill Harriers. Unfortunately, due to the weather, no PBs and therefore no bonus merit league points for this one!!
34th: Andy Sutherland (38.24)
90th: Craig Gilmour (41.36)
136th: Kieran Sullivan (43.35)
138th Scott Coulter (43.38)
206th: David McLenaghan (45.54)
266th Chris Hever (48.22)
