Perfect running weather met this classic scenic opener to the Polaroid series; a warm, calm evening with welcome refreshing rain in the early stages. A strong club contingent made the trip, well represented by the mighty Maryhillers. Mightiest of all proved to be Gordon, smashing his PB by over half a minute to finish in 10th place overall, in 34.48; better still 1st Vet! Several other pb’s were posted on the night, (though mostly to be eclipsed in C’bank, most notably by Craig!)
Lachie Stewart was guest of honour to make the presentations, it was announced that he still holds the Scottish 10k record, of I think 28.11! Andy went forward with his camera to capture the moment of glory, for Gordon & for the club, which has had a seriously lengthy lean spell in the award-winning dept. Guess what? Another name called! Podium moment lost for ever!! Unfortunate foul-up. Gordon’s win confirmed ok but after the event, so he’ll get a sweatshop voucher or whatever posted out. A sharp run from Natalie should be well noted, as 1st lady for the club. A great night’s running was had by all.
