The recent Great Scottish Run events saw a number of runners from Maryhill take part. Myself and Linda were running in the 10K while Craig, Kieran and Scott did the half-marathon.
It was a great day for running with reasonably cool temperatures and a dry course. I was shocked at turning up for the start of the 10K to find that I was in the pen with the elite runners(!). I had visions of running up St. Vincent street chasing various world-class African runners. Fortunately, they opened the pen behind to club runners just before the start and so in the end there was a mass start. Linda started a little further back and was running with her friend and colleagues from Clyde Radio. Very few events we do that are started by Paula Radcliffe and have celebrities like Dougie Vipond milling about at the start.
Nice, fairly fast course and as always a really nice grand stand finish in Glasgow green. Results for the 10K:
