Glasgow University 5 Mile Road Race

The club had another good turnout at the University Road Race this year, 6 men and 2 ladies taking part. Conditions all weekend were cold, windy and wet, however during the race itself the rain stayed mostly away, although there was a lot of surface water on the course.

Andy was first home for the club, followed by Craig White who only just beat Scott to the finish line. Kieran was next home with a PB for the distance; Duncan was 5th back and Chris 6th.

The ladies were represented by Margaret and Catriona. Margaret took a big chuck of time out of last years’ time. This was Catriona’s first race back for the club and we all watched the super spirited sprint finish she managed at the end, great to see her back.

Placing’s based upon provisional results are as follows:

Andy Sutherland 47th 30:36
Craig White 80th 33:19
Scott Coulter 81st 33:21(PB)
Kieran Sullivan 87th 34:07(PB)
Duncan Riddell 103rd 35:27
Chris Hever 138th 39:28
Margaret Peebles 175th 44:21
Catriona Nisbet 182nd 46:20

The race was won by Robbie Simpson and Lesley Chisholm was first lady.
