This Thursday was the 3rd race in the Polaroid series, the Dumbarton 10K. Starting in East End Park outside St. Partick’s Primary School, the course was an out and back along the cycle path to the A82. The last third of the course was then a loop round Dumbuck and Bonhill Roads before finishing back in East End Park.
The race was run in pretty hot and humid conditions with noticeably a lot of runners of all abilities either walking or stopping altogether. As such, the times for most folk were a little slower that what was achieved during the perfect conditions we all experienced last week in Clydebank. 718 runners completed the course. The race was won by Derek Hawkins (Kilbarchan AC) in a time of 29.45. The first lady home was Lyndsay Morrison (Central AC) in 36.10. The club was well represented and well supported (by Craig and someone who seemed to know our names but who we couldn’t identify!…….).
