Last night saw the second leg of this year’s Polaroid 10K series in Clydebank. The conditions were pretty good for running with it being fairly cool and only a slight wind. It was the usual flat course, starting at the Clydebank shopping centre and taking off through the underpass and into the business park. Then, two laps round the business park and along the canal before back to the shopping centre for the finish. The race was excellently organised and marshaled by the Clydesdale Harriers and apart from the squeeze at the start was a very enjoyable race.
A total of 815 runners finished with Tesgai Tewelde from Shettleston Harriers the first male home in a time of 30.48. The first female was Lesley Chisholm from Garscube Harriers (36.15). There was an excellent turnout from the mighty Maryhill Harriers with eleven runners – including Megan on her first run out in the club colours – and some PBs:
72 Andrew Sutherland (38.28)(PB)
102 John Weir (39.50)
121 Gordon Curran (40.39)
422 Caroline Hassan (48.19)
426 Christopher Hever (48.26)
515 John Edgar (50.35)
521 Fletcher Murdoch (50.42)
541 Laura Muirhead (51.09)(PB)
604 Megan Duncan (53.23)(PB)
748 Evelyn Curran (59.17)
767 Susan McAndrew (1.00.42)
