Brian Goodwin 10k

The Brian Goodwin 10K, organised and hosted by the Bellahouston Harriers took place last Friday night.

After the the amazing thunder storm of Friday afternoon, Friday evening was at least dry but was pretty humid for running. The course was same as last year, two loops that started from the Cartha Rugby Club house, through Pollok Park and back along Dumbrek Rd.

Apart from a couple of wee hills at the start, it’s a pretty flat course, good for setting a PB. The race was won by Michael Deason (Shettleston/GU) in a time of 31.51. The first lady was Claire Couper (Central AC) in a time of 36.52.

Five of the mighty blues entered the race. Unfortunately, David McLenaghan pulled up with a calf injury half way through. Overall, some not bad performances but special mention must go to Chris Hever who continued his of habit of recent weeks with yet another PB:

28th Andy Sutherland (38.02)
58th Craig White (40.51)
114th Chris Hever (46.23) PB
131st Gorge Young 47.19

Many thanks to Caroline and Mrs McLenaghan for the support. Many thanks to the Bellahouston Harriers for organising such a splendid race, particularly for the post-race cheese burgers and pakora.
