Sarah and I traveled up to the midge capital of Scotland (Strathyre) on Wednesday for the Ben Sheann Hill Race. This a short race of 4km and 430m climb approx over some very steep and rough ground, the first section is through forest and the second section is on open hill, a good bit of the whole route is not on any trail or track, requiring a fair degree of grunt and bravery to made good progress. This is my third attempt at the race and Sarah’s second time over the course and this showed in our improved times.
The race was won by Alasdair Anthony, Ochil Hill Runners in a time of 27.17
The first lady was Chtistina Rankin, Kilbarchan with a time of 32.13
I finished 19th in 35.07
Sarah was 39th with a time of 41.36
54 runners took part in the race
