Bellahouston 10k

The 2014 Jimmy Irvine 10K took place under perfect conditions for the 519 runners with a nice cool, sunny morning. The route was the usual two laps of Bellahouston park starting at the highest point and with the unbelievably fast first 2K. The race was won (by over two minutes!) by Robert Gilroy (Ronhill Cambuslang) in a time of 31.03. The first lady was Julie Gordon (Inverclyde Athletics Club) in 37.24. After a tough speed session on Thursday night, we all turned with a number of aches and pains. Despite these, there were a number of good performances in what is probably the last 10K of the year:

39th: Andy Sutherland (37.10)
54th: Craig White (38.36)
120th: Craig Gilmour (41.28)
180th: Scott Coulter (44.33)
189th: Michael Kemp (44.50)
257th: Catriona Nisbet (46.59)

A big thanks to the Bellahouston Road Runners for organising a very smoothly run event and very supportive marshals.
