Over the weekend of the fling and London Marathon Craig and I ran the Balfon 10k.
It is a straight forward out and back course which is very hilly for a road race, but offers lovely views of the hills towards Fintry. I had read Andy’s previous reports and Craig warned me about the course, so on the out run I did not get carried away with myself on the down hills, as they turned in ups on the way back. this left me enough energy to pass a few Garscube runners over the run, although a Dumbarton vest passed me at about 8k.
It is a big event with about 500 runners, and seems very well organised, except the company they used for the timing and results messed up and the chip system failed, hence the delay in getting a report wriiten as the results are only just out.
