Last Sunday was the 6th Balfron 10K race which took place under cool, sunny conditions. The route is an out and back along traffic-free country roads, fairly undulating with a pretty tough climb (for a road race!) from 7 to 8k. The race then finished back at the school with a good boisterous crowd cheering us home. Like last year, this was a fantastically well run race in a great atmosphere.
For first timers, this is a really great course to experience. A total of 541 runners completed the course. The race was won by Robert Russell of Central AC in a time of 32.11. The first lady home was Joasia Zabrzewski of Dumfries running club in 36.53. The mighty blues were represented by four runners (another great performance from our new star, young Craig).
14th Andy Sutherland: 38.39
40th Craig White: 42.10
213th Holly Dear: 50.02
284th Maggie Darroch: 51:57
