Hellish hot in Clydebank as temperatures reached 27 degrees+. Took all the runners all they had just to keep going as participants dropped out – and down – all the way round the course. The finishing area looked like a war zone with casualties strewn all over the place, many receiving attention from the additional ambulances that appeared to have been requested to deal with those more seriously dehydrated. No such concerns for the Maryhill tough-guys though, as all finished safely – albeit a little slower than they have been lately. We’ll need to wait for the return of the cooler weather before we see a return to the recent flurry of PB’s.
