Last night I continued my solo tour of Glasgow, promoting Maryhill Harriers, in the Nuffield Jog Scotland 5k in Glasgow Green. This race being sponsored by my employers I was encouraged to run with a few of my colleagues.
At the start there was a happy party atmosphere with stalls and tents etc with a diverse mixture of club runners, joggers and complete newbies. The conditions were perfect, cool and dry and the course was totally flat run on paths zig-zagging through Glagow Green. After I got my race-face on I got down to business and smashed my pb to smithereens clocking 22m 09s, in 63rd position from 300. WELL CHUFFED!! The race was won by Kieran Docherty of Bellahouston RR in 16m 25s and first female (6th overall) was Lesley Chisolm of Garscube in 17m 40s
I would definitely do this race again, good atmosphere, well organised and a great flat course for a pb.
