Kirkintilloch 10k

Thursday night was this year’s Kirkintilloch 10K. Despite the Brian Goodwin 10K taking place the day after, there was still a good turnout with 290 runners taking part.

The course was the usual route, starting near the Primary School, through the streets of Kirkie and then down onto the canal. The course then followed the canal until about 5K where it then did a loop round Cadder Rd, Kirkintilloch Rd and Torrence Rd, before heading back onto the canal towards Kirkie for the last 3K.

The weather was pretty awful for running with it being very hot and humid and this of course affected everyone’s times.

The race was won by Ciaran Dougherty (Bellahouston Road Runners) in a time of 34.14 and first female was Alexandra Lamond (Ronhill Cambuslang Harriers) in a time of 37.57.

There was a decent turnout from the mighty blues who were well supported by Gordon. Special mention to Captain Hever who despite starting at the back of the field, had a strong race beating many of his usual competitors.
Results:
19th Andy Sutherland (37.39)
21st Craig White (37.53)
143rd Chris Hever (47.31)
179th Catriona Nisbet (49.11)
258th Fletcher Murdoch (58.14)
