Etape Trossachs

On Sunday I did the Etape Trossachs Sportive, I had entered with some friends from work ages ago and I have spent a lot of the summer training for it.

A Sportive is a timed route, not technically a race, and as such I was not super concerned about my time. Hence I chose to cycle with two of my work mates at what ever pace we could manage.

The route starts and finishes in Fintry and goes over the Dukes Pass Twice, around Loch Katrine, the Crow Rd and finally The Tak Ma Doon at Kilsyth. The total distance is 104 miles with 7150 ft of climbing.

I finished 16th in 7hrs 12min.

It was a good day out and I had a good laugh with my friends. I was particularly pleased that I felt good all the way around, and

still felt strong at the end.

Probably aim to do another sportive next year.
