It was a beautiful sunny day for the BUPA Great Women’s 10k. Thousands of ladies pounded the streets for fun, competition, charity and fitness while nervous dads, boyfriends, husbands, brothers and sons watched their loved ones put them to shame.
3 Maryhill Harriers took part including myself who; due to the poor navigation skills of my fiance I made the starting gun with less than 30 seconds to spare. The run is well organised and the atmosphere terrific. There are a few hills to negotiate in Pollok Park but otherwise it was a flat and enjoyable course. The race was won by Scotland’s Susan Partridge in a very impressive 33:53
